MODERNIZED 600 to 1000 mm gauge DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE WLP 50

The most popular diesel locomotive on Poland's industrial 600 mm gauge railtracks at brick and sugar plants, coileries and coal mines is the Polish 2-axle locomotive WLS 50. In its original version, it posesses a Polish 50 hp engine and weights 6,3 t.

Two modernisations of this locomotive give a solide and strong everywhere-to-use locomotive according to actual state of art. A moderate modernization - giving a locomotive called Wls50-M3 - leaves frame and wheel sets with the rods untouched, but exchanges driver's cabin, cover, engine and transmission.

The farest going modernization also provides the locomotives with roller bearings. To ensure a locomotive for all ossble requested purposes, encluding diffrent gauges, we also offer this locomotive with entirely new fabricated rame, and wheel sets. This version is called WLP 50.

It is visible that only axles and frame are derived from the original WLS 50. Also the buffors are modernized ones. Nethertheless, the new created locomotive is cheaper than a 100 percent new one. The modern design ist shown by the following photographies.

The locomotive may be fabricated for gauges from 450 to 900 mm, on special demand of customers also f.e. for 1000 mm gauge.

The turbo version of WLP 50 ensures 100 hp (75 KW).
